Transitions

We all experience transitions in life, the attributing factors of our transitions vary depending on the stage of life we are in. In reflection, I’ve noted how parents and students are preparing for the school year or semester: attending orientations, purchasing books and supplies and completing annual physicals. This is now our 2nd season as parents that we will not have to attend an orientation or purchase books and supplies. Our daughter has completed her last year of formal education a year ago. This is a good thing! This is a season of transition for us as parents. Our daughter now has her own apartment, negotiated an independent contract for her first consulting gig and is living in a city several hundred miles away. This season is fully welcomed and refreshing! An important thing to note, sometimes those observing your transition may perceive it to be a difficult time for you. They may also not be accepting of it because of the affect that your transition may actually have on them. When I personally transitioned from a formal job or traditional employment, many did not understand it. They still don’t! But I do, I live and breathe with sheer excitement and joy as I’m able to chart my path in life according to my ambitions, goals and desires. Leveraging the skills and experience that I have garnered over many years and applying them to actually Live My Legacy! Is it always easy? No. Is it worth it? You bet it is! I’m always learning, growing, and most importantly giving, and I Love It! Transitions should be embraced and accepted! Transitions and seasons are a natural part of the ebb and flow of life. When hearts are prepared the change is usually more naturally embraced. Welcome the transitions you may be experiencing in life. It’s all a part of preparing for what’s to come! For those who are witnessing the transitions others are experiencing, be more accepting and embracing thereof. And don’t wimp out on opportunities to embrace and live life on your terms.
