Advent – “the expectation of something or someone who is to come”.
As Christians, we wait with great anticipation, reflection and preparation for the coming of Jesus Christ!
“At Advent more than any other time it reminds you of the ongoing need for justice, the need to be attentive and mindful of living the values of God’s kingdom/reign. It also fills you with hope and peace as you remember again who God is and rest in that.” – Dr. Claire Smith,

Advent ~ Expecting | Waiting | Coming
Hope is found in His presence.
Embrace the hope of His coming as you abide in His presence…
Many seek evidence of Him; however the treasure to be had is to experience Him…
Abide in Him!
Advent ~ Expecting | Waiting | Coming
Peace is found in His presence.
To experience inexplicable peace is to know Him; to know His promises and to hold fast to them.
Protect your core, nurture your peace, with scripture, songs, praise and prayers, so that when the actions of this world tries to infiltrate, you will be able to stand with a confident peace.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” – John 14:27 (NRSV)
Think on those things that gives you peace, know them, draw from them, they will sustain you…

Joy is found in His presence.
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is when Mary and Elizabeth greeted each other upon Mary’s arrival to visit with her. The unborn child in Elizabeth’s womb leaped (with joy) at the sound of Mary’s voice, the chosen mother of our Savior!
The baby yet to be born recognized Him! The one who would in fact bring joy to the world!
To experience inexplicable joy is to know Him; to know His promises and to hold fast to them.
“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” – Psalm 28:7 (NLT)
Thanks be to God for Him who was, and is, and is to come! He who brings joy to the hearts of every man, woman, girl and boy!
Rejoice!

Love is found in His presence.
The greatest expression of love through all of history; the promise that was to be fulfilled, the birth of our Savior.
Thanks be to God!
Christmas Day: God With Us!
“God entered our world, not as a conqueror but an infant, demonstrating the depth of God’s love — and a radical vision of peace and love — for all creation.”
Rejoice!
